About the Pooja

The festival of Janamastmi is celebrated as Lord Krishna’s birthday in the whole country. According to Puranas, on the ashtami day of Krishna Paksh of Bhadrapad month, at midnight, Lord Krishna was born to mother Devki in jail. Majority of the people fast on this day and at midnight after Pooja they break their fast. During Janamastami Pooja, a special Pooja is performed, where idol of Lord Baby Krishna is placed in a swing. At midnight along with the Poojas, Lord Baby Krishna is given a bath in panchamrit and holy water followed by changing into new vastras and being offered special food.

This Pooja should be done for wishing for a child and his/her happiness, stronger marital relations, wealth, happiness and prosperity for you and your family.
