What is Kuber Pooja?
As per Hindu scriptures, Lord Kuber is the giver and protector of all wealth. You know that few litres of water taken out from the ocean don’t affect its huge capacity. In the same way the store house of wealth can never reduce for the devotees of Lord Kubera. His personality may be dwarf like but his grace upon his worshippers is immense. It is mentioned in Shiv Purana, Kubera was cursed by Goddess Parvati for his evil intentions against her but later when she forgave him; he was blessed with the responsibility of being the Lord of wealth and material. Lord Kuber is the distributor of wealth whereas Goddess Lakshmi is the originator of wealth. He is also referred as the Lord of north direction. So to seek the continuous shower of wealth and prosperity in your family, Kuber Pooja is must. By faithfully and heartily adoring the glories of Kubera, devotees attract his blessings and he travels on his Viman Pushpak, the flying chariot to bestow his love upon them.

To perform Kubera Pooja, one should clad in yellow clothes after bathing and sit on a yellow coloured mat facing north direction. After lighting the ghee lamp and drawing swastika on Pooja plate, place the powerful Kuber Yantra on it. Place four varieties of fruits near the yantra. Offer prayers to Lord Ganesh by chanting “Om Gam Ganpataye Namah”Âand further to Lord Shiva for seeking blessings. Lord kubera will be worshipped by chanting mantras holding a roasary and performing homa along. After the Pooja ceremony, place the Kuber Yantra in your locker or any other auspicious and clean place at your home to receive the grace.
When should this Pooja be performed?
Kuber Pooja is considered most auspicious during Diwali and Dhanteras. October and November are auspicious months to carry out this Pooja. Apart from this, it can also be carried out on full moon (Purnima) and new moon (Amavasya) day of any lunar month.
